First Holy Communion 2019
This was one of our largest groups with 18 children.
Preparations began in December 2018 and the Sacrament of Reconciliation was on 16th March and the First Holy Communion service was on 26th May 2019.
The children were prepared for the sacraments by three catechists and parents took turns in coming to the sessions. The sessions were held on a Sunday morning during term time in the parish hall. The program was interactive and each child had a personal folder to keep all their material. There was an opportunity to explore the church and learn from Father Henry when and why different vestments are used. All the children took an active part in the Mass of First Holy Communion including preparation of the bidding prayers. The choir provided the music and the parents decorated the church and parish hall.
